Any pilot currently holding an RePL can access our Extended Visual Line of Sight ( EVLOS ) course and now with recent CASA amendments to the MOS 101, any pilot is now able to train and be certified EVLOS 2 under there ReOC for flight OCTA ( Outside controlled airspace )

In EVLOS 1, the pilot is able to fly beyond the usual distances limited by the pilot's ability to see and orientate their aircraft by using an observer located with the Pilot. In EVLOS 2, much longer distances are achievable with observers spaces along the intended flight route at intervals. The Ripper Aviation Academy are the ONLY training organisation currently in Australia to have a comprehensive EVLOS 1 and 2 training syllabus delivered in our unique, highly experienced and expert lead delivery modes, but also have the operational and procedures libraries written ready for you to incorporate into your ReOC.

There simply is no comparison anywhere to our delivery in EVLOS 1, EVLOS 2 and onto BVLOS training with us being able to deliver and end to end solution no one else can from EVLOS training, certification, approvals, ReOC variations to include EVLOS and IREX training - all in-house.

When flying beyond your own line of sight, your observer will take that role from you in constant communication, giving you exact feedback on your aircraft surroundings, heights, headings, obstacles etc. You continue to fly your aircraft using your App or GCS whilst your observer maintains the 'visual' element of your flight. In EVLOS 1 scenarios, there are no further requirement for the pilot in charge ( PIC ) - in EVLOS 2 scenarios where flight in Controlled Airspace such as Class C Airspace, for example, you are required to hold the CASA Instrument Rating Exam ( IREX ) also available with us at the Academy.

In our course, you'll learn about all the rules and regulations for EVLOS flight and how to apply them practically. We'll fly using FPV, spotting scopes or other visual aids to help you experience both sides of the operation, both as an EVLOS 1 and 2 observer and Pilot. You'll complete the course and leave with approval certification for you as a pilot to fly EVLOS 1 and 2 scenarios.

At the end of the course, we will issue your EVLOS 2 approval under our instrument allowing you to fly EVLOS 2 under your ReOC once you've adding in your procedure documentation into your manuals and submitted your ReOC variation to CASA for addition of EVLOS 2 Ops. It's worth noting also, that we offer a complete service to vary your ReOC for you including all Ops Manual and Library additions.
