South China Morning Post reports on The Ripper Group

An Australian company has developed a sophisticated drone that could mean the difference between life and death for people in shark-infested waters.

The device can detect more than 20 objects in the water including sharks and crocodiles and is capable of taking countermeasures in crisis situations.

In 2018 it performed the world’s first ocean rescue with a drone. Developed by The Ripper Group, the Westpac Little Ripper drone has been in testing for over 3 years and around 80 are now deployed in Australia alone.
